Elite Dangerous 2.4 – “????”
2.4 – “????”Back at EGX in 2015 we showcased the headline features that would be coming to Horizons. However, there’s always been an extra little update, a mystery if you will, that has yet to be revealed. We’ll be providing a little more information about the update to the community and the press during E3 on June 13[SUP]th[/sup] and 14[SUP]th[/sup]. We’ll be hosting special community livestreams and activity so stay tuned for more news and updates as we get closer to the date.I can, however, tell you that this update will be slightly different to previous ones - content will be revealed over time rather than all being available on day one. Additional pieces of exciting content will surface over the coming months as the narrative progresses.
So what is the update that was missing?

Landing on planets, done. ✓
Discovery of planetary features seems to be hinted at, areas or buildings found/discovered seems to be something that is to be developed via mysterious transmissions. Also, this is a building on towards atmospheric planets, but this hasn't been established as thing on the radar.
Fighters, implemented.✓
Multicrew, done. ✓
Adding crew to stay on the ship or pilot the ship when on the planet seems to be something hinted, srv and fighters.
Holome has been done. ✓
Talking about scales, they talk about going around the ship in srv, shows about the scale of ships, was this an indication about getting out of your seat? I'd hope so.
Loot and crafting had been implemented. ✓
But, they said you can craft lasers to be a different color, damage effects . Cosmetic stuff seems to be a thing that has been lacking in terms of gameplay. But, they have lasers that are in the store that you pay for, so this might not be a thing.
CQC, well does anybody actually play it, I guess it's done. ✓
Addition of new ships, done.✓
But, they mention the progression of newer ships, so could the proposed Panther Clipper, Asp MkII, Krait, Mamba, The Hunter, Narwhal Liner? No actual mention of them, it would be nice to have a universe that has a plethora of ship designs.
Apparently, they got the whole trading part wrong. The missions haven't been addressed properly. The missions are linked in a subtle level according to David Braben, power play has to be improved. This leads towards adding more to planetary exploration and the emergence of the anaconda graveyards in Maia.
Opinion
They need more in terms of having subtle hints, like when you dock, the operations officer says oh, did you see whats going on [insert local system with interesting features].
This is just simply missing.
Every time I visit ED there's a new thing ingame, I have to say the advance in the outfitting menus is welcome. All of the bugs like the screen locking on menus is irritating and really shouldn't be bugs after a stable release. Those issues should of been fixed after 1.4.
